“Sometimes tradition is the fuel that drives the wheels of creation. After all, the original can only come into being if it has never existed before, and how do you know it never existed before if you aren’t willing to immerse yourself in the things that belong to the days of yore?

“The Cacophony Society has long understood this and been willing to mix tradition with the future. There’s no better place for this that on the perennial favorite–Zone Trip to Salvation Mountain and Slab City.

“Bring along your bicycles, old paint and other accoutrements for a three-day weekend that’ll make Moses’ visit to Mount Sinai looklike…well, it’ll still look more important than this, but the Zone Trip will be way more fun than having God bitch at you for coveting your neighbor’s wife.” - Reverend Margaret

UPDATE (01/28/08): Bikes!
For the best time, bring a FAT-TIRED BIKE. Many of us are in a Bike “Cult”. And we’re bringing bikes. We are going to ride these bikes to various destinations, one location is 20 miles - one way. But those without bikes can carpool and meet us.

UPDATE (01/24/08): Theme!
Yes, there is going to be a theme for the whole weekend. Post-Apocalypse - Punk. Think Mad Max & Tank Girl. Also to keep in the bike-bikery flavor — pimp your bikes out with rockets, spikes, rubber duckies & polka-dots. I mean, seriously, when the world ends, there aren’t going to be gas to run cars, much less cars.
